C.I.M.S. is committed to fostering a community that values and actively practices engaged service. Each year, C.I.M.S. students work with local and global organizations including Taiwan SPCA, The Taiwan Guide Dog Association, Coral Reef Restoration in Maldives and The Grumeti Fund in Tanzania. In 2020, the students also worked to support global COVID-19 relief efforts. The students are constantly encouraged to reflect upon ways in which they can make a difference in their community, to contemplate how they can tie the work they do in the classroom to the world around them, and to take creative, meaningful action.

By allowing students to actively involve themselves in local, national, and international causes each becomes acutely aware that small changes can lead to larger changes and that each can make a difference within the community. There is nothing more pleasurable than to watch the pride and strength of character that results from supporting the needs of other communities.
