The co-founders of Canadian Independent Micro School have a combined teaching experience of over 60 years. They bring to the Institute an excellent understanding of learning styles, individual differences, and sound educational theory. Their combined experiences enabled them to have both classroom, hands-on experience, as well as many years as administrators in top ranked Canadian Independent schools.

Our co-founders established a learning environment that encompasses the development of the total child: academic, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, moral. Education cannot be broken down into separate components as every subject area is interrelated creating a global perspective for each individual.

We also believe that knowledge without proper values is opportunity lost. Character development enables children to better understand what their contribution to society can be as they become young adults and beyond.

Such ideals that were espoused several hundred years ago have been put aside so that children are now being asked to make decisions regarding their futures well before they truly recognize their individual strengths. Parents and schools are pushing students into paths which may not truly enable success for each individual. Secondary schools and universities are channeling students into specific courses causing many students, three years after entering university, to recognize a wish or need to change programs.

Your children are facing a world that is vastly different than the one in which you were educated. The globe shrinks, interconnected societies and cultures are common; the need for understanding of global issues is necessary in all countries of the world. A society that limits the opportunities for its children to do so seriously hinders the opportunities for success in a competitive world market.

A liberal arts education enables your child to challenge, to analyze critically, to formulate ideas and concepts that stimulate discussion and creativity. By better understanding his own strengths and his own capacity to participate he will be able to appreciate the strengths in others and recognize the remarkable ability in collaborating for the common good.
